What is nutritional yeast?

It’s a deactivated form of baker’s yeast. A lot of plant-based foodies and vegans use this savory, nutty, umami flavored seasoning as a cheese alternative (with some modifications). It’s great for making vegan sauces, dips, flavoring popcorn, and adding savory flavor to soups and tofu scrambles and is usually fortified with vitamins and minerals.
